Additionally to IPv4, D-Series telephones support the use of IPv6 in a dual stack setup together with IPv4 or as IPv6 only. Shipped phones are configured with IPv6 disabled.

Additionally to being 'disabled', IPv6 supports the following modes:

  1. DHCP

In DHCP-mode, IPv6 is configured by an Routing Advertisement daemon or DHCPv6-Server. Static configuration of IPv6 addresses is not supported, thus a 'manual' mode ist intentionally missing. Though it is possible to assign global IPv6 addresses to devices manually, it is highly unusual to do this. Therefore a router advertisement service needs to be present and configured correctly for IPv6 to work on D-Series telephones.

If you should wish that an IPv6 address is generated out of `advertised prefix` + `random device address` instead of `advertised prefix` + `device address generated from MAC`, this has to be activated.
