IPv6#
Additionally to IPv4, D-Series telephones support the use of IPv6 in a dual stack setup together with IPv4 or as IPv6 only. Shipped phones are configured with IPv6 disabled.
Modes#

automatic-mode#
IPv6 is configured by an Routing Advertisement daemon or DHCPv6-Server.
Static configuration of IPv6 addresses is not supported, thus a 'manual' mode ist intentionally missing.
Though it is possible to assign global IPv6 addresses to devices manually, it is highly unusual to do this. Therefore a router advertisement service needs to be present and configured correctly for IPv6 to work on D-Series telephones.
Privacy Extension#
If you should wish that an IPv6 address is generated out of advertised prefix
+ random device address
instead of advertised prefix
+ device address generated from MAC
, this has to be activated.
